MakerLabs: Where Creativity, Community, and Innovation Meet
Welcome to the New MakerLabs Website!
While MakerLabs has been part of the community for many years, our website hadn’t received the attention it deserved—until now. We are a vibrant community of makers, hackers, tinkerers, and creators, united by a shared passion for learning, exploring, and bringing ideas to life.
MakerLabs is more than just a workshop — it’s a place to meet like-minded individuals, collaborate on projects, learn new skills, and unleash your creativity. Whether your interests lie in woodworking, metalworking, electronics, robotics, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC routing, or any other form of making, you’ll find the tools, machines, and support you need here.
With our new website and blog, we aim to reach an even wider audience — including those who can’t always attend in person — by sharing inspiring blog posts, project highlights, and community updates. Follow along and be part of our exciting journey!
MakerLabs is proud to be a part of the larger South African network of makerspaces, the SA Maker Collective. This connection lets you network with makers from other cities and countries, exchange ideas, share knowledge, and participate in collaborative events and challenges. Some of the amazing spaces we’re affiliated with include:
House 4 Hack – Centurion
Made In Workshop – Johannesburg
The MakerSpace – Durban
We invite you to join MakerLabs and become part of our growing community. As a member, you’ll gain access to our facilities and equipment, as well as the opportunity to participate in workshops, courses, hackathons, and social events. Or simply join us every Wednesday evening for our open night Meetup — everyone’s welcome!
We can’t wait to see you at MakerLabs.
Happy making!
